I love standing in front of a room and showing people that letters don't have to be perfect, digital or readable to be powerful.
I've spoken at many schools and academies about my work and about the creative process behind it: a way of designing that starts with experimenting instead of planning. I make letters by hand from ink, paint, plastic and whatever else I come across, I work without an undo button, and I let accidents lead the way. That process is what makes my work unique, and it's what I love sharing most.
In a talk I show how a small experiment can grow into a mural, an animation on a big screen or an interactive installation, including the experiments that failed and the ones that surprised me. My goal is that people walk out looking differently at letters, at their surroundings and at their own creative process.
I give talks on location and online, so distance is no problem. I'm also happy to join as a guest speaker in a lesson, a course, an event or a festival programme.
