I'm Laura Ketting, an artist and graphic designer from Rotterdam. Under the name Experimental Details I make letters that flow, melt, dance and react to the people around them.
My work starts with typography, but it rarely stays on paper. I make letters by hand, from ink, paint, plastic and whatever else I come across, and turn them into murals, animations, posters and interactive installations.
More and more, I build my own digital tools: tools that track touch, movement and passersby, so the audience becomes part of the work. You'll find my pieces on walls in Breda, between the ads on big screens in Utrecht and Amsterdam, and in exhibitions where visitors don't just look, but get to play.
Next to my own work, I give workshops and talks. Participants search their surroundings for letter-like shapes and turn them into an alphabet of their own, all in black and white.
